Job Description
The Production Scheduler is responsible to plan, coordinate and manage the production schedule to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations. The Production Scheduler works closely with operations, procurement, logistics and production teams to ensure materials, tools and resources are available for 100% Customer Delivery Performance.
Job Duties
- Create, maintain, and ensure execution of the Production Schedule
- Issue work orders to the production floor and follow up on completion
- Ensure components are available for timely completion of the Production Schedule including Service Requirements
- Participate in daily production meetings and resolve scheduling/manpower conflicts as required
- Management of Outside Vendors, prioritizing and inventory verification
- Assist with Cycle counting/Bar Coding
- Ensure integrity of data entry
- Train staff to cover duties in their absence
- Organize and participate in Annual Physical Inventories
- Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action
- Constantly look for improvements and help implement solutions
Requirements
- Minimum grade 12
- Materials Management accreditation an asset
- Two years work experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Practical experience in using MRP or ERP systems is preferred
- Proficient in Excel – intermediate level preferred
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Team player within multi-disciplined team
- Strong organizational skill set
- Strong computer skills – CMS experience an asset
- Understanding of Indented Bill of Materials creation and updating
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Meticulous record maintenance skills
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
- Strong Customer Service orientation
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage multiple projects
Working Conditions
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Overtime as required
- Job involves working on the Production Floor
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2-3 years related experience in customer service activities in a manufacturing or similar fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team with customer-focused orientation and strong sense of delivery. Supervisory experience would be an asset
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office
