Job Description

The Production Scheduler is responsible to plan, coordinate and manage the production schedule to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations. The Production Scheduler works closely with operations, procurement, logistics and production teams to ensure materials, tools and resources are available for 100% Customer Delivery Performance.

Job Duties

  1. Create, maintain, and ensure execution of the Production Schedule
  2. Issue work orders to the production floor and follow up on completion
  3. Ensure components are available for timely completion of the Production Schedule including Service Requirements
  4. Participate in daily production meetings and resolve scheduling/manpower conflicts as required
  5. Management of Outside Vendors, prioritizing and inventory verification
  6. Assist with Cycle counting/Bar Coding
  7. Ensure integrity of data entry
  8. Train staff to cover duties in their absence
  9. Organize and participate in Annual Physical Inventories
  10. Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action
  11. Constantly look for improvements and help implement solutions

Requirements

  1. Minimum grade 12
  2. Materials Management accreditation an asset
  3. Two years work experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  4. Practical experience in using MRP or ERP systems is preferred
  5. Proficient in Excel – intermediate level preferred
  6. Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  7. Team player within multi-disciplined team
  8. Strong organizational skill set
  9. Strong computer skills – CMS experience an asset
  10. Understanding of Indented Bill of Materials creation and updating
  11. Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  12. Meticulous record maintenance skills
  13. Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
  14. Strong Customer Service orientation
  15. Ability to work with minimal supervision
  16. Ability to manage multiple projects

Working Conditions

  1. Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  2. Overtime as required
  3. Job involves working on the Production Floor

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2-3 years related experience in customer service activities in a manufacturing or similar fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well in a team with customer-focused orientation and strong sense of delivery.  Supervisory experience would be an asset
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office
