POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Education Manager plays a central role in advancing this mission and driving the growth of the education category.

The Education Category Education Manager is responsible for managing and growing educationcategory revenues across digital subscriptions. This role works closely with Editorial, Digital, Product, Advertising, and Engagement teams to design and deliver compelling offerings for students, educators, and institutions. The position also leads partnership development and plays a key role in shaping The Globe's longterm education strategy.

LOCATION: Toronto (preferred) however, remote candidates within Canada will also be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and sell subscription programs to universities, providing digital access for students, faculty, and administrative staff.
  • Drive subscription activation and usage through effective campus engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with the Advertising team to grow revenue opportunities and strengthen relationships within the university sector.
  • Identify and build partnerships with thirdparty organizations that can expand educational reach and revenue.
  • Collaborate with Editorial on studentfocused content strategies (e.g., careers, personal finance, media literacy).
  • Work with Digital and Product teams to develop tools that support student needs (e.g., careerreadiness tools, financialliteracy resources).
  • Partner with the Engagement team to increase activation, retention, and ongoing engagement among student subscribers.
  • Support the development and execution of integrated strategies that deepen relationships with students, faculty, and institutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in a related role, including business‑to‑business (B2B) sales.
  • Proven success in B2B subscription sales (experience in media or digital products considered an asset).
  • Established experience and relationships within the higher‑education sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrixed organizational environment.
  • Strong track record of collaborating with customers, developing high‑quality sales materials, delivering persuasive presentations, negotiating solutions, and supporting client needs throughout the sales cycle.

SALARY: The base salary for this role ranges from $99,100 to $124,000 per year. Placement within this range depends on a candidate's level of experience, technical skills, and alignment with the role's requirements. Candidates who have been identified as meeting the role's requirements can expect to be near the midpoint of this range, while the upper end is reserved for those with specialized expertise or a strong track record of success in comparable roles.
