Job Description

Lead the logistics behind Canada's most complex environmental field programs.

If you're an experienced Consultant, Environmental Field Coordinator who thrives at the intersection of logistics, problem‑solving, and environmental impact, this is your opportunity to take the lead. Join ERM a global sustainability consultancy where your coordination expertise keeps multimillion‑dollar projects moving, empowers field teams across the country, and directly supports high‑stakes environmental initiatives in energy, mining, and infrastructure.

As a Consultant, Environmental Field Coordinator, you'll play a strategic role behind the scenes - ensuring the right people, equipment, and plans come together seamlessly so critical fieldwork can happen safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Based in Vancouver, BC, your reach and influence will extend nationwide.

Why This Role Matters

ERM delivers innovative solutions to help clients navigate today's toughest environmental and sustainability challenges. High‑quality fieldwork is at the heart of that mission. This role is essential to ensuring our field teams are properly resourced, compliant, and supported - no matter where the work takes them.

In this dual‑focus position, you'll support both field program execution and national equipment management across ERM's Canadian offices. Your coordination ensures dynamic field schedules stay on track and that critical equipment is maintained, available, and deployed efficiently - reaching the right teams at the right time.

What Your Impact Is

As part of ERM's Project Management team, you'll serve as the central coordination hub for environmental field programs across Canada. Your ability to anticipate risks, solve logistical challenges, and communicate proactively will be critical in fast‑moving field environments.

Your work will directly support environmental assessments, permitting, EHS compliance, and remediation activities tied to major energy and mining projects. By keeping operations running smoothly, you'll enable high‑quality data collection, support ERM's sustainability goals, and help project teams deliver exceptional outcomes for clients and communities.

  • Experience supporting sustainability initiatives or reporting metrics

  • Experience conducting environmental fieldwork

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with project managers and environmental technical leads to support execution of environmental field programs, ensuring people and equipment align with project timelines

  • Coordinate logistics for field staff, including mobilization schedules, travel, accommodations, and site access

  • Maintain a consolidated Canada‑wide field schedule using Smartsheet (or similar software) with inputs from project teams

  • Act as the main contact for equipment procurement, shipping/receiving, and cost‑effective transport across Canada, including hazardous materials (e.g., preservatives, batteries)

  • Maintain safety‑critical equipment through inspections, calibrations, replacements, and tracking lost or damaged items

  • Manage national equipment inventory across all Canadian offices, including stock levels, retirement of obsolete equipment, and decisions around rentals or substitutes

  • Maintain up‑to‑date calibration certificates, maintenance logs, and warranty documentation

  • Provide equipment revenue and forecasting information to management; monitor utilization, cost recovery, and improve tracking processes

  • Document staff schedules and equipment deployment to meet safety, insurance, invoicing, and compliance requirements

  • Support project delivery through data compilation, research, equipment invoicing, invoice reviews, and report preparation contributions

  • Assist in developing project‑specific Health & Safety Plans and field mobilization checklists
