We are dedicated to serving our customers with the best digitally enabled solutions to meet their needs quickly and reliably, while providing the support of a global service network.Under the supervision of the supply chain manager, the strategic buyer is responsible for coordinating procurement activities, including support for designing and implementing cost reduction strategies. He or she also performs various functions for planning and qualifying sources of supply in order to procure quality components for the organization, at a cost that meets the targets of his product line, within time frames allowing the proper execution of the projects and to ensure deliveries on time.

Your responsibilities

  • Work towards improving the monthly key performance indicators of the products for which he/she is responsible.
  • Coordinate projects with the Global Business Centres (GBS), the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and the Global Commodities Management team.
  • Contribute to the development and consolidation of the current and future supplier base.
  • Negotiate supply agreements and improve current terms in line with the objectives of the company.
  • Configure and improve the supply chain parameters in SAP in line with best practices.
  • Contribute to the optimization of inventory alongside other Operation teams, such as Production, manufacturing engineering and Planning teams.
  • Place the orders, track critical parts, coordinate appropriate logistics and ensure invoices are processed in line with supplier original commitments.
  • Obtain order confirmations, update other team members of receiving dates, and raise escalations to ensure the production line needs are met.
  • Negotiate and process supplier claims, returns (RNC/NCR's) and their corresponding credit notes.
  • Oversee supplier performance and work with Quality to resolve performance issues.
  • Develop and maintain excellent business relationships with supplier-partners.
  • Identify and participate in initiatives to optimize processes and reduce equipment costs considering the total cost of acquisition.

Your background
  • B.A.A. or Bachelor of Operations Management or in an appropriate field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a procurement or project management department.
  • Excellent command of French and English.
  • Experience working with an ERP/MRP system is a major asset.
  • Excellent command of MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability to work in a company with a matrix structure.
  • Experience in project management or engineering.
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently while having strong teamwork skills.
