Position Summary
Thales Canada is looking for a Naval Architect student for the 2023 Summer work term on the AOPS and JSS In-Service Support (AJISS) program. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in working in the largest in-service support program in Canadian history, supporting the Royal Canadian Navy's newest class of ships – the Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships.
Working closely with the AJISS Naval Architects and other individuals in the LCMM & Engineering Team, the AJISS Naval Architect Student provides technical support of AOPV Hull Systems and Fittings. In this role, the individual will gain valuable working experience with troubleshooting technical issues with ship systems, working with ships technical data package, and gathering experience working on board the ships whilst alongside during their maintenance work period.

Special Position Requirements
(Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week)
Halifax, Nova Scotia based position. The student will work from the Thales Halifax Office in Burnside, and may occasionally have to visit the DND Facilities and HMC Dockyard in Halifax to attend the ships during maintenance work periods.
All applicants must be able to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance and meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program and ITAR.
