Job Description

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Business Analyst III, Power Platform is responsible for developing and supporting ongoing operations, solution design and delivery of projects related to Microsoft Power Platform suite of tools and SharePoint of Seaspan Marine Group. Additionally, this role is responsible for supporting the development and establishment of governance standards and processes, writing technical solutions' documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver on project initiatives.

Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

What you'll do:

Solution Development:

  • Understand business challenges and create solutions in Power Platform and SharePoint that effectively cater to its needs.
  • Efficiently leads and develops low-complexity projects to automate business processes, creating customized low-code applications by using Power Automate, Power Apps and data connectors.
  • Designs, builds, deploys, and maintains new and current SharePoint sites and pages.
  • Designs, builds, deploys, and maintains reports, interactive dashboards, and data visualizations in Power BI.

Technical Expertise and Support:
  • Executes and supports the administration of Seaspan Marine Group's Power Platform assets and workspace environments, offering hands-on technical expertise for their effective management and operation.
  • Educates and supports business and technology users on Power Platform, SharePoint, and their functionalities through training sessions.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Supports the implementation of the Data and Digital Enablement Program's roadmap with focus on Power Platform initiatives.
  • Meets and collaborates with stakeholders to understand their use cases and ensure the developed Power Platform solutions meets those needs.
  • Partners with cross-functional technology teams and vendors to support the development of high-complexity projects on Power Platform.
  • Participates in Scrum ceremonies as part of the Data and Digital Enablement team with focus on Power Platform initiatives.
  • Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms related to Power Platform initiatives.

Standards and Best Practices:
  • Applies industry standards and best practices to design and create Power Platform and SharePoint solutions, assets, and workspace architecture.
  • Ensures consistency in solutions created (Power App, a SharePoint site or page, a Power BI dashboard) and aligns them with overall governance standards.
  • Writes and maintains comprehensive documentation of the requirements collected, and assets created, such as user stories, runbooks, and wikis.

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Business Administration, or completion of a Post-secondary Diploma in Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a data analyst or Power Platform development role.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft technologies, specializing in the development and maintenance of scalable, resilient, and secure solutions using Power Platform.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging the Power Platform suite to generate business value, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI, and SharePoint, with a strong understanding of its governance components.
  • Working technical knowledge of programming languages and relational databases, such in Data Modeling, Power Pivot, Power Query, SQL, SQL Server, .Net, HTML, CSS, CDS, DAX, MDX, Dashboard UI / UX, and Azure DevOps.
  • Proven skills in developing and documenting business requirements, functional requirements, technical requirements, process flows and use cases.
  • Experience with business process redesign, including development of as-is and to-be states.
  • Knowledge of Scrum methodology, Organizational Change, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and Business Intelligence principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for this position.
  • Ability to be proactive when determining tasks and taking care of issues and challenges.
  • Has a deep understanding and demonstrated experience in Microsoft Power Platform suite of tools and SharePoint.

The estimated salary for this position is $85,500 - $104,500. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
