Job Summary
Intertek EWA-Canada is searching for a Junior Common Criteria Evaluator to join our Connected World team in our Ottawa, Ontario office. The Junior Common Criteria (CC) Evaluator will be a part of the EWA Common Criteria Team that performs testing, evaluation, and compliance assessment of Information Security products from leading technology vendors against the Common Criteria standards. The ideal candidate will have a high-level understanding of security products and technologies. The candidate is expected to prepare relevant project documentation. The candidate will have the chance to improve their technical competency through on-the-job training and work assignments.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct EAL based evaluations, evaluations against NIAP approved protection profiles, and potentially EUCC evaluations.
Develop and review all test reports and required certification documentation.
Review/comment submission-related output from other evaluators.
Assist the Lead/Senior CC evaluators in customer Gap Analysis workshops and create related consulting documentation.
Work directly with the clients and the government certifiers to ensure the products meet the Common Criteria requirements.
Essential Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
2+ years of industry experience in Computer Networking and Security industries.
Proven knowledge in electronics: understanding the concepts such as current, voltage, resistance.
Ability to work well individually as well as in a team environment.
Commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.
Positive attitude with excellent analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desire to learn new products and technologies.
Hands-on user interface experience and command line fluency on Windows and Linux (Ubuntu, Kali or RedHat).
Hands-on experience using Wireshark, NMAP, ESXi, and OpenSSL.
Intermediate to advanced computer networking skills in LAN/WAN.
Good understanding of Internet protocols, IPv4/6, SSH, DNS, DHCP, ICMP, Telnet, TLS, HTTP/S, and TCP/IP model.
Ability to read and follow code in an object-oriented programming language or a scripting language.
Hands-on experience working with MS Office or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
Vendor neutral IT Security related certifications or vendor specific Routing & Switching/ Security related industry certificates from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Microsoft, Checkpoint.
Basic knowledge about Common Criteria.
Experience in evaluating against other IT Security compliance standards.
Experience using electronic testing tools such as oscilloscopes and signal generators is an added advantage.
Hands-on experience using Putty, Nessus, tcpdump, StrongSwan, netcat, stunnel and scapy.
Basic scripting using Python.
Good understanding of Internet protocols SNMP, RSTP/STP, IPsec, and PKI.
