Buffalo Catering Employees LP is looking to fill a Temporary Housekeeping Manager role at our Beaver River lodge, located near Fort McMurray, AB. The Housekeeping Manager oversees both the front desk and housekeeping teams, ensuring that every aspect of our guests' stay meets our exceptional service standards. Working closely with the Lodge Manager, this position will be responsible for managing daily operations and elevating the guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a collaborative and productive environment by supervising and providing advice, guidance, motivation, and direction to the front office and housekeeping teams.
  • Actively participate in the hiring process to build a strong team and ensure that all staff receive comprehensive training to excel in their roles.
  • Establish performance standards and expectations, ensuring compliance with company processes and procedures.
  • Strive to meet and exceed productivity goals through effective team management and resource allocation.
  • Maintain room inventory through strategic planning and advance blocking of rooms to meet the needs of guests and groups.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Cultivate and promote superior customer relations, enhancing the overall guest experience.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the rooms division, ensuring that all service standards align with company values and goals.
  • Assist with managing departmental and human resource performance, staff scheduling, payroll, daily sales, labor and inventory forecasting,
  • Ensure that daily housekeeping services are completed efficiently, promoting a clean and welcoming environment for all rooms.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in all guest rooms and public areas.
  • Deliver high-quality service by promptly, efficiently, and courteously responding to guest requests, fostering a positive customer experience.
  • Effectively manage room assignments and in-house reservations while maintaining open communication with client representatives.
  • Oversee linen laundry processes to ensure quality and cleanliness.
  • Provide assistance in managing other departments during managers' absences to ensure continuity of service.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures by following company Safe Work Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Collaborate with the rooms division team to explore and implement innovative ways to improve departmental service and performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that contribute to team's success.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business, Hospitality Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in housekeeping and front office roles within a hospitality setting.
  • Experience with INNfinity or other property management system.
  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining safety measures within a housekeeping environment
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Committed to upholding the company's core values in all interactions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent coordination skills and people management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and guest relations skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Valid driver's license with a 5-year driving record that meets Civeo's criteria.
  • Must successfully pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
