Civeo Premium Services Employees LP is recruiting for Carpenters to work in our well-equipped facility in Acheson, AB. Reporting to the designated Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the structural portion of repairing, installation and dismantling of transportable industrial accommodations and other types of factory built, modular structures. The candidate will also install, repair, and demolish modular structures made of wood, wood substitutes, steel and other materials using construction hand and power tools. He/she must follow applicable building codes focusing on safety, quality and accuracy of work and be flexible to changing roles within the function.
The work schedule is 5 days on and 2 days off, Monday to Friday. This is a permanent, full-time, hourly position.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Prepare layouts and patterns in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
- Select, measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes and other materials using nails, staples, screws, bolts or glue
- Frame floors, walls, roofs, conduct exterior and interior finishing
- Fit and install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding and ceiling tiles
- Install floor beams, lay sub-flooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Assemble wood and metal products such as metal siding, window sashes, doors, door jambs, boxes, and pallets, using screws, bolts, staples, glue or other fasteners
- Set up and operate woodworking equipment
- Repair and remodel existing structures
- Establish high standards of personal performance with a continuous emphasis on achieving quality of work, delivery on time and within budget
- Provide suggestions for improving construction systems and processes, methods of work, tools, etc.
- Prepare ad-hoc detailed specifications and cost estimates if needed
- Supervise apprentices and other construction workers if required
- Follow all company, job and client-specific safety protocols and OH&S legislation.
Qualifications - Certified Journeyman Carpenter is preferred. Non-journeyman Carpenter with a minimum of 10 years of experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of directly related construction experience in residential, commercial and light industrial construction and renovation
- Valid class 5 driver's license with clean 5-year driving abstract
- Specialized knowledge and experience working with modular buildings is an asset
- Specialized knowledge, experience and current tickets for operation of equipment, such as scissor lifts and man lifts would be an asset
- Must have Fall Protection (OSSA), Confined Space/Monitoring (OSSA), Elevated Work Platform, CSTS and Standard First Aid with CPR
- Ability to work physically and regularly lift up to 50 lb.

- Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time to meet required project deadlines
- Ability to interact co-operatively and professionally with customers and co-workers
