Westland Insurance Group has an exciting new opportunity for a Full Stack Web Developer, preferably to be based in Eastern Canada. This is a fully remote position. The opportunity:

The Full Stack Web Developer will take full ownership of your tasks from development testing and delivering. We have tons of interesting projects in the pipeline and your expertise with creativity will contribute to the key success of our projects.

In this role you will:

• Translate complex functional, technical, and business requirements into efficient and scalable software designs by taking into account time and financial constraints.
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI Designers and advise on technical feasibility of proposed design approaches.
• Be part of a dynamic group of developers working on various projects, leveraging latest technology to address all customer needs in the area of insurance.

Here's what you bring:

• Building distributed task processing systems.
• Prior experience designing customer-facing dashboards (authentication, RBAC).
• Prior experience with E-commerce and payment gateways (Stripe, Moneris, Bambora).
• Solid grasp of application security and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with microservices and containerized applications design.
• Deep understanding of software architecture patterns and concepts.
• Secured REST API design.
• 3+ years of using IDE, debugging and code profiling.
• Knowledge of front-end Javascript and PHP frameworks.
• Proactive and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• 3+ years of experience with PHP7.2 or higher using Phalcon, Laravel or Symfony frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of JS ES6.
• RDBMS system design.
• 2+ years of experience with VueJS, AngularJS or React.
• Solid knowledge of Docker and containerized approach to development
• Good to have: Asynchronous PHP development (Amphp, ReactPHP), Message queueing, Web sockets, Experience with MS Azure, AWS or GCP, TDD approach and unit testing, CI/CD pipelines.
