Summary
The Corporate Disability Claims Coordinator reporting to the Director of Disability Management will gain practical experience in all aspects of disability management. Under the guidance of the Director of Disability Management, this position offers a unique opportunity to work on cases involving workplace injuries and disability claims. This position will assist in research, documentation, appeal preparation and the application of relevant laws and regulations associated with disability claims management.
Job Duties
- Conduct research to support the organization in matters related to disability management and workplace disability/injury claims.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and documentation of cases involving workplace injuries, disability claims, workers' compensation and associated appeals.
- Remain updated on relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to disability management and ensuring the organization's compliance.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of accurate records, reports, and documentation related to all aspects of disability management.
- Collaborate with and support the Director of Disability Management and contribute to the preparation of documents and other related correspondence.
- Participate in the analysis of case data and contribute to the identification of trends and potential strategies for claims management.
Requirements
· Post secondary education in Human Resources or Claims Management, or equivalent.
· A minimum of three years' experience in Workplace Safety & Insurance Board matters and/or Human Resources is preferred.
· General knowledge of medical terminology.
· Strong interest in disability claims management.
· Excellent research and analytical skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to make persuasive arguments within professional limits to effectively manage disability claims.
· Willingness to learn and work closely with a claims management professional.
· Basic knowledge of disability management regulations and/or related administrative/legal concepts.
· Detail-oriented and organized.
