Position Summary
Thales Canada has a vacancy for a Docking & Engineering Specification Writer to support its Non-Combatant In-Service Support Programs for the Royal Canadian Navy.
The Thales Docking & Engineering Specification Writer will work with the Thales LCMM & Engineering and Service Delivery Teams to provide project management and technical support to various Royal Canadian Navy's Non-Combatant Platforms. This includes but not limited to the planning and execution of ship structural surveys and associated defect resolution, preparation of survey reports, development of repair specifications, docking work packages, and other technical support activities as required.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Docking & Engineering Specification Writer will report to the Certification Manager within TCDS and support with the development of docking work packages, based on industry/RCN accepted practices and available technical documentation. This may include but not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must meet each of the following criteria:
3-year technical program diploma (for Technologists) or 2-year technical program diploma (for Technicians) in a marine technical field offered by a recognized technical institute; or
Certified technologist or technician by a recognized provincial, state, or federal (national) licensing body in a relevant field or certified body; or
Certified as one of the following technical trades of the Canadian Armed Forces:Marine Technician RQ-PO1 or RQ-PO2
QL 6A or 6B Marine Electrician
QL 6A or 6B Naval Electronics Technician
QL6A or QL7 Marine Engineer
QL 6A or 6B Hull Technician

Special Position Requirements
The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash 90,000.00 - 105,000 CDN Annual.
This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee's career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company's annual salary budget, the customer's program requirements, and the company's internal equity.
