Job Description and Responsibilities

If you're a hands-on leader who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and keeping operations moving, this is an opportunity to make a real difference every day. As a Foreman, you'll be a key leader on our operations team, overseeing hourly unionized employees and helping create a workplace where safety, teamwork, productivity, and customer service come first.

You'll lead the team through daily operations, ensuring employees are prepared to work safely and efficiently while keeping customer needs and processing targets top of mind. You'll play a hands-on role in keeping operations running smoothly—from maintaining tools and equipment to identifying and addressing issues before they impact the team

  • Supervise and operate heavy equipment used for the loading and unloading of ferrous and non-ferrous materials

  • Support and oversee a variety of essential yard operations, including the use of loaders, excavators, mobile shears, material handlers, and other heavy equipment

  • Supervise yard operators and tradespeople during daily yard operations, providing direction and support as required

  • Supervise and perform preventative maintenance on equipment to support safe and reliable operations

  • Perform torch cutting of ferrous materials as required.

  • Perform minor equipment repairs and coordinate additional repairs as required

  • Identify, report, and address safety observations and hazards within the yard

  • Oversee yard housekeeping, ground maintenance, and overall cleanliness of the work area

  • Communicate with yard employees using handheld radios to coordinate material movement, purchasing requirements, and safety activities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 1-3 years of leadership roles (military, lead hand, supervisor or management experience)

  • Must have a valid Driver's License

  • Mechanical or electrical tickets considered an asset

  • Ability to lead inside and outside workforce

  • Ability to build and retain a strong team

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of Automotive components is a definite asset
