What You'll Be Doing

  • Assemble manufactured and purchased components to meet the specifications as indicated by assembly drawings. This may be done as part of a team for large complex assemblies, or smaller stand-alone cells. 
  • Assemblies may include complex arrangements and may require fitting and adjustment to meet close tolerances.
  • Assume responsibility for the complete assembly, installation, and validation of machine systems
  • Working with Mechanical Design, Controls, Purchasing and other members of the Systematix team to overcome technical issues and roadblocks. 
  • Assist and advise apprentices and more junior MTBI
  • Travel to customer site for onsite installation of equipment.
  • Additional hours may be required for scheduled or unscheduled onsite customer service on evenings or weekends

Level of Autonomy and Authority

  • Work without detailed supervision, but within clear guidelines, defined standards and specifications. Difficult, complex or unusual matters are referred to more senior authority.
  • Assume responsibility for the complete assemble, debug and install of small to medium sized machines
  • Assist and advise apprentices and more junior MTBI

Key Requirements 

  • Minimum requirement of Ministry Trades Certificate of Qualification and at least 2 years of experience in Industrial Automation
  • Basic Shop Safety Rules and Knowledge of duties under OHSA 
  • Must have a valid passport and driver's license, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally 
  • Must be available to travel for periods of up to 3 weeks
