What will your typical day look like?

  • Manage all activities of the Innovation and R&D team
  • Manage resource budget and staff allocation
  • Create and maintain shared team values
  • Delegate responsibilities to Team Leaders
  • Provide vision and strategy for the team's people, processes, technology
  • Hire personnel, manage team and individual performance and career development
  • Manage R&D capability catalogue roadmap
  • Lead the innovation development pipeline and roadmap across our product portfolio, driving market positioning and presence
  • Manage portfolio performance, oversee financial models and business partner relationships
  • Work closely with Product Owners and Senior Specialists to stay up to date on emerging technologies and their effectiveness to new and existing products

About the team

The Deloitte CIC Research & Development and Innovation group focuses on improving and advancing our capabilities as a managed security service provider through a diverse product portfolio. You will be harnessing emerging technology or re-imagining tried and true methods in novel new ways, our ideas are applied to delivery of our core mission to protect clients as a one stop cyber security solution provider. We have an immediate opportunity for a Manager of our Innovation and R&D group. You will oversee a diverse team of technology and product specialists, managing their individual and team performance and ensuring output cadence and quality of deliverables. You will bring balance between innovation and research objectives, working closely with Product Owners and R&D Specialists to prioritize research objectives and the product features driving them. You will utilize their cross-domain knowledge of cyber security, managed services, and business operations to curate our product portfolio, working closely with Product Owners to drive efficiencies and maximize financial performance.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant area of study with a preference for Computer Engineering, Information Security or Computer Science OR equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years managing performance of technical staff
  • 3+ years coaching staff focusing on career progression
  • Proven ability to build and inspire a team of technical and business security professionals, ability to deliver projects on time/budget/scope and excellent presentation and communications skills and experience working collaboratively with clients
  • Outstanding analytical, organization, communication, and presentation skills
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop relationships and conduct business conversations with cross-functional leadership
  • Ability to manage clients, complex projects, drive business requirement gathering, manage scope and client expectations
  • Ability to understand technical conversations and translate into business impact, with a general understanding of innovative technology landscape
  • Able to concurrently manage multiple work streams with varying degrees of complexity and shift priorities quickly without compromising deliverable quality
  • Eligible to obtain Canadian Secret Clearance

Desirable Qualifications

  • CISSP certification
  • CCSP certification
  • Experience with Managed Services or Service Delivery Centre
