Job Description and Responsibilities

Are you a skilled Industrial Mechanic looking for an exciting opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic and innovative environment? Join the team at EVRAZ North America in Camrose, Alberta, where your expertise in repairing, troubleshooting, and installing machinery will play a critical role in our operations.

We're seeking a full-time Industrial Mechanic who thrives on problem-solving, can interpret blueprints and schematics with precision, and takes pride in maintaining and repairing essential equipment.   • Receive instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done

  • Inspects mill equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear, and insufficient lubrication

  • Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize the interruption of production

  • Advises when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect

  • Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment

  • Adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics

  • Makes either temporary or permanent repairs

  • Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, and shafts, involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits

  • Works with the repair crew as directed on emergency breakdowns

Requirements

  • Must possess a Red Seal Journeyman Certificate or Alberta Journeyman Certificate

  • Previous work experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is an asset

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED

  • Good written, oral communication, and organizational skills

  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Aptitude for setting up, tearing down, and rebuilding machinery and equipment

  • Experience with maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment

  • Experience using all sizes of air impact and electric wrenches, all pipe fitting tools and equipment, i.e. sockets and ratchets, hoists, both electric and manual, jackhammer, cutting torches, and welding equipment

  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings

  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs

  • Must be available to work 12h and/or 8h shift patterns

  • Must be available for day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Must successfully pass the pre-employment screening process
