Job Description

Pacific Coastal Airlines is looking for a Temporary (6 months) Casual Saab  Captain in Vancouver.

Behind the controls, our Pilots maintain safety and emergency-related procedures for the aircraft.  On the ground, they are part of a team who works in conjunction with crew members and ground agents to ensure on-time performance and customer service are at a premium. They are professionals entrusted with safety, security, and service excellence.

Minimum Qualifications for SAAB 340 Captains:

  • 1,500 Hours Total Time
  • Canadian ATPL*
  • All candidates will be required to complete the Company Intro to Command course**
  • Must have completed (on type) initial as well as one recurrent training event**
  • Consideration will be given to pilots who don't have an ATPL in the expectation that an ATPL will be issued by the Start Date of the posting. PICUS will be validated by the CP once an application has been received for the purpose of obtaining an ATPL to upgrade within the company. 
  • Only applies to FO Upgrades who have not previously held a Captain position at Pacific Coastal.

NOTE: If a candidate meets the above qualifications, it does not guarantee an upgrade. Performance on the flight line, during training, and feedback from peer reviews is taken into consideration prior to the awarding of an upgrade.

  • Follows and enforces standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with Pacific Coastal Airlines and regulatory requirements

Customer Service

  • Deliver service standards in accordance with Pacific Coastal Airlines philosophy
  • Greet and engage passengers on board the aircraft
  • Carry oneself in a professional manner

  • Hourly per diem rate of $5.10 per duty hour
