DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a highly organized Applications Engineer to manage the testing and validation of our award-winning industrial imaging technology. This role encompasses benchmarking and communicating the performance of our novel technology for specific industry use cases. We are looking for someone who blends excellent organization, collaboration, and project management skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex technical information and communicate with cross-functional stakeholders (product, sales, research and engineering).

This role is on-site and is based out of DarkVision's head office in North Vancouver, BC, where employees enjoy full access to our facility amenities including a well-equipped gym, squash court, climbing wall, steam room, private showers, and more.

Our Team

DarkVision develops high resolution ultrasonic inspection technology for industrial assets. We engineer, develop, and manufacture integrated hardware and software solutions for complex imaging applications and deliver advanced technical analysis that inform our customers of the condition and health of their assets. This is a great opportunity to join a world-class team that is revolutionizing how industry manages the integrity and efficiency of critical assets.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will work with Product Managers to prioritize lab-based assessments of the inspection technology. You will project-manage the execution of the assessments and become trained in our analysis software to interpret the results and performance.

You will help craft the messaging and communicate our performance internally and to external stakeholders. The content you generate will be used to showcase DarkVision's differentiation and performance to customers, to help focus research and development on areas for improvement, and to support marketing and technical whitepapers.

Testing Roadmap

  • Work closely with Product Managers to prioritize each capability based on value and effort.
  • Translate the desired outcome into an actionable test plan - ideate samples and strategize to reduce time to data collection.

Project Execution

  • Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of the test scans.
  • Be the primary point of contact and central hub of communication and information between project stakeholders and contributors.
  • Design/define requirements and communicate the required samples and test setups to internal and external vendors.
  • Procure test samples with defect and component features that represent real downhole scenarios.

Data Analysis

  • Utilize our data analysis software to provide first assessments of the results.
  • Leverage data analysis SMEs to help extract conclusions and measurements.

Communication

  • Distill the results into easily digestible reports and presentations.
  • Familiarize yourself with relevant inspection practices, performance metrics, and customer acceptance criteria, and utilize these standards for reporting; work with the Product Managers to show the relative performance against competitor technologies.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of relevant applications or test engineering role
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience writing technical whitepapers
  • Jira experience is an asset
  • PMP certification is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent influencing skills; track record of driving accountability
  • Self-sufficient - able to make decisions and balance risk/reward with limited supervision
