Mission Statement: In collaboration with Category Lead, create, develop and implement a business-aligned, long-term Category Strategy for Canada and develop an annual pipeline of strategic category initiatives across IS Services, facilities, Materials and Travel.The EL IM&S PL Expert and Category Manager (Canada) actively participates in and facilitate sourcing events and conduct negotiations for large deals such as Integrated Facility Management, large IS Services or Software deals, Managed Service Provider agreements or Integrated Supply Chain deals for our MRO spend.The objective of this position is to leverage the purchasing power of ABB on a country level and to achieve the set performance targets for the respective categories. The position holder will manage the Canadian IM&S spend and ensures that category strategies get defined and implemented in close collaboration with key stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

  • In collaboration with Regional IM&S Team, set cost reduction targets for all category teams in scope based on corporate targets and support in developing the category teams to a high performing organization.
  • Ensures that the Category sourcing performance targets are achieved according to the IM&S (Indirect Materials & Services) operational dashboard (especially cost reduction/avoidance and supplier reduction).
  • Collaboration / team orientation on defining and implementing solid processes throughout the value chain for an annual spend of around $ 35MUSDNo Direct Reports.
  • Leverages CIPS category teams locally, regionally and globally for the appropriate supplier selections and ensures that the CIPS methodology is applied in a meaning full and pragmatic manner.
  • Define category strategies and manage the execution of the respective category plans in collaboration with IM&S Team and facilitate strategy review meetings involving internal clients when necessary.
  • Drive RFIs / RFQs and provide support to regional IM&S business negotiations, and manages the assigned project team.
  • Ensures that the ABB e-Sourcing tool gets leveraged whenever feasible and define RFQ / P&L standardization processes and negotiation strategies.
  • Ensures that contracts for preferred and/or approved suppliers are based on ABB's terms and conditions and filed in SAP Ariba and provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with Company directives and guidelines.
  • Ensures alignment and best practices between local P&L activities and the GBS Global Centers.

Your background
  • University degree (BA/MBA/ENG/MS) in related field: Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Business Economics.
  • 7-10 years experience in Strategic Sourcing.
  • Manage internal Stakeholders and virtual Category teams.
  • Drive Demand Management.
  • Drive initiatives centrally to support different business with different objectives.
  • Manage Region Specific Disbursed Supplier and Business strategies.
  • ISM or CSPM Certification a plus.
  • Extensive experience in Negotiation Management and Negotiation Tactics.
  • Very good understanding of Contract Management & Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Strong Project Management and Communication skills.
  • Experience in working in international environments and managing Stakeholders of varying Management Levels.
  • Superior English & French in spoken and written, as we work with suppliers inside and outside Quebec.
  • Self-starter mentality.
  • Desire to work in a strong and fast paced environment.
  • Travel: 20%-30%.
