****Referral bonus premium $1,500.00**** As an R&D Electronic Engineer, you will contribute significantly to technology and product development projects by identifying and implementing innovative solutions. Reporting to the Global R&D Manager - Self-Contained Lighting, you will use your technical knowledge to oversee development tasks and to contribute to strategic technology plans and the project portfolio.
Your responsibilities

  • Proactively contribute to the overall design process of new electronic products starting from the evaluation of market requirements, performing feasibility analysis, and defining detailed requirement specifications.
  • Carry out circuit simulations, evaluate and define component selection, and finalize schematic diagrams and PCBA layout.
  • Perform preliminary R&D tests for design validation (functional, environmental, electrical safety, EMC, reliability) on prototypes.
  • Write technical reports and compile official product documentation for production and testing.
  • Make fixes to embedded programming as needed on legacy product.
  • Support the life cycle management of the existing product portfolio, implementing range extensions and evaluating and qualifying second sources for EOL components with the goal of ensuring business continuity.
  • Make sure that all activities are executed in accordance with internal guidelines and applicable standards.
  • Provide technical support to other internal functions (e.g., product management, laboratory, supply chain management, manufacturing engineering) and expand relationships with the other R&D teams as well as relevant external consultants.
  • Keep up to date with technologies, tools, and methods, proposing and implementing initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the development process.
  • Constructively participate in working teams, sharing own technical/scientific knowledge, supporting colleagues in applying processes and tools as well as consulting colleagues to gain information and knowledge.

Your background
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering or similar technical fields.
  • 8 years of professional experience in the design and verification of electronic devices.
  • Proficiency in the use of eCAD software (preferably Altium Designer) both for schematic and layout design.
  • Good knowledge in embedded firmware design. (C, C++ and/or assembler)
  • Good knowledge in the design of analog circuits, AC/DC and DC/DC converters (e.g., SMPS, LDO), digital systems with display (e.g., MCU, SOC, flash memory and ADC) and communication interfaces (e.g., RS485, I2C).
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI topics. Experience in debugging and troubleshooting EMC/EMI issues.
  • Experience in circuit simulation (PSpice, LTSpice, or Altium Designer).
  • Proficiency in the use of test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, function generators) to carry out laboratory tests on prototypes, PCBAs, and devices.
  • Experience in the use of soldering stations for prototyping and PCBA rework.
  • Knowledge of PCB/PCBA fabrication and assembly process (SMT, wave/selective, TH) and automatic verification/testing (ICT, AOI, FCT).
  • Teamwork oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive and reliable personality with a solution focused approach and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English and French (both written and spoken)
