We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent position for a Data Analyst Power BI (Research-Economics). This position is ideally hybrid based in our Toronto office; candidates located within 50 km will follow a hybrid model. Fully remote candidates based anywhere else in Canada will also be considered.

Reporting to the Director of Economics, you will join our research-economics team and will support the team by managing large survey data sets, optimizing, analyzing, and integrating them into Power BI. In addition, you will work on creating appropriate visualizations and delivering quantitative and qualitative content.

Highlights of Responsibilities:

• Manipulate, clean, sort, organize, and upload and download data

• Identify data outliers and trends, provide key insights on PBI
• Participate in the continuous improvement of work methods
• Meet agreed upon weekly completion targets
• Analyze data and prepare draft reports
• Schedule and run data refresh.

What makes a successful Data Analyst Power BI (Research-Economics):

• Proficiency in dimensional modeling including star and snowflake schema design
• Knowledge of Power BI (PL300 certification is an asset)
• Knowledge of SQL, DAX and Power Query
• Expertise in Microsoft office 365 suite for word processing, spreadsheets, and graphs
• Experience or knowledge of statistical analysis is an asset (R, Python, SPSS, etc.)
• Previous experience with survey data is an asset
• Commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
• Ability to work well with minimum supervision with the capability to self-learn
• Good interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English language is a requirement (written, oral, and reading); French is an asset
• Desire to learn more about the small business sector and its role in the Canadian economy
