Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

Location(s): Toronto (Hybrid)

You will assist with accountability for the product lifecycle of their assigned product(s) for North America beginning from product and following through to product delivery and deployment. You will gather and analyze competitive and market intelligence and understanding our customers' needs and requests. Based on market intelligence and Moneris' company-wide strategies, you will support a product roadmap to ensure the profitability and viability of the products within the assigned portfolio. Within Moneris, you will provide feed back to the company for the voice of the customer. To be successful, you will work with their Technology counterparts to achieve corporate goals. You will report to the Director Emerging & Value Add Services.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Identify and define product opportunities and product requirements, through customer insights, customer visits, competitive and trend analysis, functional gap analysis, feedback from Technology etc. to develop a product roadmap that meets our overall strategy and goals.

  • Develop an 18 month - 3-year product roadmap for assigned portfolio.

  • Manage all elements of the product life cycle including gathering and creating product requirements, introducing new features (including determining the appropriate product solution bundle), retiring outdated or redundant features, and providing product support for product launches.

  • Develop solution concepts to address opportunities, gaps and requirements to maintain competitiveness of product offering, consulting on concepts with Technology, and developing comprehensive business cases to support decisions and prioritisation.

  • Prioritise product requirements against resources and revenue opportunities to maximise impact of future releases against achieving published corporate priorities.

  • Ensure all required technology-driven changes are prioritised and included in roadmap

  • Foster collaborative working relationships with Technology partners to ensure transparency and communication of activities involved in the product readiness and support of products as aligned with the Product roadmap and life cycle management.

  • Manage, solicits and obtains feedback from clients, sales, technology and operations on tech trial and pilot, working with the organisation to deliver best in market solution and address / prioritise any remediation needed before commercial launch.

  • Internal and external product demonstrations and training (train the trainer)

  • Ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are prioritised within the roadmap to meet required timelines.

  • Customer visits for requirements gathering, solution feasibility), product demonstrations, roadmap.

  • In collaboration with Technology, works with third-party companies/vendors to assess partnership opportunities, and managing such relationships.

  • In collaboration with Sales and Technology, evaluates requests for customization from clients for inclusion in standard product releases.

  • Identify important success and performance metrics of product offerings within assigned products and adjusting to achieve targets.

  • Work with Product Commercialization, Operations and Sales to ensure that products meet product launch success criteria.

  • Become the product evangelist and our go-to person and industry expert.

  • Assist the Sales and Client Integration teams in product presentations to main accounts and the preparation of sales proposals and responses to RFPs.

  • Comply with corporate policies established by Moneris Corporation including the HR Code of Conduct, Technology Policy & Privacy Policy

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • University degree in Business, Commerce or a related field. Equivalent job experience can be considered as a substitution.

  • 1+ years of Product Management experience including a proven track record in developing strong product roadmaps and requirements gathering; experience in related products.

  • Technical understanding preferably in the software development product life cycle

  • Must have planning and project management experience with project lifecycle management in a technology-dependent environment.

  • Business and financial acumen with experience identifying opportunities, gaps or improvements, and recommending solutions to complex issues.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Visio.

    • Understanding of programming languages, APIs, technical architecture considered an asset.

Nice-to-have...

  • Previous experience in the payment industry considered an asset.

  • MBA or equivalent post grad professional qualification is an asset.
