Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to join the Englehart OSB Manufacturing site in Englehart, Ontario. This is a full-time, on-site role within the OSB Engineering organization, focused on supporting mill operations, capital execution, and continuous improvement at the site level.

The Englehart OSB mill is a critical asset within Georgia-Pacific's OSB business. The site safely and reliably produces oriented strand board while continuously improving performance in safety, quality, reliability, throughput, and cost. This role offers early-career engineers direct exposure to real manufacturing challenges and meaningful impact on mill results.

Our Team

At the Englehart OSB mill, Engineering works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and EHS to solve real manufacturing problems and deliver work that creates long-term value. This role is embedded on-site and intentionally hands-on, with daily interaction across both hourly and salaried teams.

OSB Engineering values ownership, strong field presence, disciplined execution, and practical problem-solving. You will be expected to build credibility in the mill, develop a deep understanding of the OSB process, and contribute directly to operating and project outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Lead capital and expense projects under the guidance of the OSB Engineering Manager and on-site Project Managers, including scope development, FEL activities, scheduling, contractor coordination, field execution, and commissioning.
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to manufacturing operations through a strong on-site presence, including troubleshooting process, quality, reliability, and equipment issues
  • Support outage planning, backlog reviews, and root cause analysis to strengthen reliability and execution discipline
  • Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and EHS teams to align engineering work with mill objectives and operating priorities.

Development & Training

Development is an important part of GP Engineering team. As part of your growth, you will:

  • Complete the Early Project Professional Institute of Competency (EPPIC) program, including in-person and virtual learning, coursework, and a capstone experience
  • Learn and apply Georgia-Pacific project execution principles through real capital and expense projects at the Englehart OSB mill
  • Build foundational skills in project management, data analysis, and OSB manufacturing systems through hands-on application and coaching from experienced engineers and project managers

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline)
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience (internship, co-op, or manufacturing experience preferred)
  • in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • through hands-on field experience
  • and collaborate across diverse teams

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process-driven environments
  • Familiarity with basic data analysis tools such as Excel, trend analysis, and reporting
  • Demonstrated ownership, follow-through, and alignment with Georgia-Pacific values

  • Develops project management capability sufficient to eventually succeed the two existing on-site Project Managers.
  • Builds credibility with Operations and Maintenance through consistent field presence and reliable follow-through
  • Develops strong working knowledge of OSB processes, equipment, and mill systems
  • Contributes to measurable improvements in safety and project execution over time.
