Position Summary
Thales requires two (2) Technical Writer Interns *12 months Full time Fixed term who will be responsible for maintenance and development of documentation for Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), including Application Programming Interface (API) documentation, setup/installation/management procedures, explanatory diagrams, customer release notes (CRNs), and product overviews. This position requires strong technical writing and editorial skills, including grammar, consistency, and formatting, to ensure that product documentation adheres to Thales's house style and standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of experienced technical writers, developers, testers, and sales engineers to update, develop and maintain both existing product documentation and upcoming release documentation.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Maintain, revise, and improve existing technical documentation in collaboration with a team of experienced writers.
Author, edit, and format technical documentation with a high standard of grammar, clarity, consistency, and style.
Perform editorial reviews of technical documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency of terminology, and compliance with editorial and formatting standards.
Research, test, and document HSM procedures and features in collaboration with engineering, development, test, and sales teams to ensure that product docs are correct and complete.
Monitor and respond to documentation-focused issues in Jira, draft and validate requested changes, and publish them to the web in accordance with Thales's review and version control practices.
Basic Qualifications
Diploma or degree from a recognized college/university in a relevant technical or communications field (computer science, computer engineering, English, communications, journalism, or equivalent).
Enrollment in a Technical Writer Ontario College Graduate Certificate program (or equivalent). Must be a current student or recent graduate.
Proven editorial, grammar, proofreading, and editing skills, with the ability to produce polished, high-quality documentation.
Proficiency in requirement gathering, analysis, and documentation procedures.

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between
Total Target Cash (TTC) 48,784.50 - 84,568.00 CAD Annual
