Deep domain knowledge enables us to truly understand and address our customers' challenges and opportunities.Automation Service Canada supports customers with ABB automation and electrical drives systems and solutions, operating in a wide range of industrial and utilities markets, across Canada. Our customers operate mission critical 24x7 processes which rely on ABB support from installation and initial start-up, through to life-cycle services to maximize the availability of the solutions provided by ABB and optimize their operations.You will execute service work with Automation Service Canada, specializing on Drives systems provided by ABB. Located in Montreal or surrounding areas, reporting to the Service Manager, you will act as a field service representative providing on-site and remote services to customers. You will work with other ABB field service personnel in Quebec, with an extended network of professionals within Canada, North America and globally.

Your responsibilities
- This role will be the key point of contact for all technical requirements after the system start-up, executing maintenance programs and commissioning new drive systems.
- Lead and/or participate in the installation and commissioning of new systems.
- Design, implement and execute maintenance programs to maximize the availability and operational effectiveness of customer drive systems.
- Consult with and advise customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures and safety guidelines.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process problems, provide recommendations and implement solutions to eliminate root causes.
- Prepare and present reports to customers for new installations, maintenance, audits and other services.
- Deliver occasional training to our customers on ABB drive products/systems.
- Provide ABB leadership with recommendations for product, quality and customer service improvements.
- Regular travel within Quebec and the rest of Canada is required to provide on-site services. This may include occasional travel to the USA and internationally for both customer on-site services as well as training.

Your background- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or College Diploma (Dec) in Electrical Technology.
- Experience with installation and maintenance of industrial control systems, including, low voltage and medium voltage drives, PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience with coordinated drive systems within the pulp and paper or metals industries is a definite asset.
- Strong customer focus and the ability to relate well to customer needs, strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined service environment often under pressure filled conditions.
- Excellent bilingual communication skills including the ability to write reports and speak effectively before customers or employees.
- This position can reside in Montreal or the surrounding area.
- Valid passport and driver's license, and able to travel to the USA and internationally for training and customer assignments.
