Following project specific schedules, deadlines, and business requirements, as determined by the Director Corporate Digital Marketing and other stakeholders, the incumbent is accountable for the on-time planning, production, maintenance, practical application and distribution of marketing and training materials across the corporation. Duties include but are not limited to: preservation of brand standards, content creation, content strategy, UX/UI design, auditing and quality assurance testing of department initiatives, new media testing, and project managing creative team efforts. You will be a key member of the web planning team, product launch process, MyTeknion planning team, and an active influencer and contributor to advancing Teknion and its brands' design-driven user experience.

What are the primary responsibilities for this role?

  • Branding & Content Creation
    • Maintain quality, integrity, and consistency in Teknion's brands' identities. Coach vendors and company departments to apply standards, create training materials and templates, and show leadership in support of a branding strategy that is approachable and sustainable across the organization.
    • Develop and update written and visual communication material to support product launch and knowledge sharing initiatives: print collateral, graphics and motion graphics, video, curriculum, presentations, web content, etc.
    • Coordinate web updates for team execution, interface with stakeholders, recommend content and styling applications, track project schedules, build pages, align go-live actions with web designers, and QA staged content before publishing.
    • Work with stakeholders, marketing teams, and third parties to plan and manage video and photography shoots. Make recommendations for growth and maintenance of in-house audio/visual studio. Execute or coordinate video editing and other postproduction requirements. Align completion and availability of new materials with business priorities.
  • User Experience & Content Strategy

    • Solution and design UI for Teknion product, digital interfaces and training tools. Interface with industrial design, product management, marketing groups and end-users to carry out: user experience research, map user journeys, develop iconography and standardize language, prepare graphic mock-ups, and test and QA vendor work.
    • Recommend, audit, organize, make meta-property adjustments and contribute content to our brands' marketing strategies: content calendars, digital asset repositories, social media posts, advertisements, blogs, aggregators, etc.
    • Participate in regular strategy meetings to architect web development goals and advance Teknion's Corporate Digital Marketing strategy.
    • Create end-user training and assembly materials to support product launch and sales pursuit needs: gather requirements, prepare scripts, art direct teams, and post produce video and graphic content.
    • Research, learn, and employ the use of new media types, to widen department capabilities and evolve the quality and style of materials output in support of company initiatives.

What education & experience will help you thrive in this role? 

  • Post secondary education or equivalent professional experience. We value a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. *Please share a portfolio of your work when you apply*
  • Excellent computer, technical and design skills, including expertise of the Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite (Google Apps)
  • Experience planning and managing video, photo, or other content creation sessions
  • Experience with web and interface design principles: content management systems, digital asset management systems, UX/UI design, HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with the following is an asset: marketing automation, copywriting, JavaScript (or other programming languages), 3D design and motion graphics
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with eye for typography and graphic branding standards
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, take initiative and lead collaborative efforts to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to learn, test, train and empower others to adopt new media types, software, and design principles
