The Automation Technician's role is to install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot automated systems, including robotics and control systems, to ensure safe, efficient and reliable production equipment and operations.

Job Duties
- Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated production equipment to prevent failures;
- Repair and replace faulty components, including sensors, servo motors, and pneumatic parts;
- Conduct preventative maintenance, such as upgrading and calibrating machines to extend their lifespan and efficiency;
- Address equipment failures and troubleshoot problems under pressure to minimize downtime;
- Develop new automation processes;
- Integrate continuous improvement projects through automation designing, building and programming;
- Verify that new automated systems and production lines are functioning correctly;
- Collaborate with engineers on system design and improvements;
Requirements
- University Degree/College Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years related experience in an automotive/manufacturing industry
- Skills in industrial robot programming, PLC programming, machine vision
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
- Able to create alternative solutions to problems
- Excellent time management and project management skills
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot
- Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites
- Able to work all three shifts (Days, Afternoons and Midnights)
- Overtime as required
Requirements
- University Degree/College Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years' related experience in an automotive/manufacturing industry.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
- Able to create alternative solutions to problems
- Excellent time management and project management skills
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
- Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.) and email
- Proven ability to troubleshoot
- Knowledge of basic computer hardware and applications software.
