Job Description

Teknion Custom Solutions is looking for a Beam Saw Operator.  We are a custom wood office furniture manufacturer producing a large variety of office furniture.  The Beam Saw Operator executes rough cuts on sheet goods, enabling their progression through manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret shop drawings and job instruction documents,
• Perform measurements with accuracy,
• Requires knowledge and the ability to identify different building materials such as MDF, particle board, plastic laminate, and others.
• Must examine materials for flaws and imperfections before processing to optimize material efficiency,
• Understands machine operations: setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, lockout,
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment,
• Employ safe and appropriate material handling and lifting techniques for wood furniture to prevent damage and injuries,
• Must understand and consistently apply standard safety rules and procedures.

• Energetic and enthusiastic attitude, thriving in a collaborative team,
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
• Approaches work with a high degree of organization, safety and attention to detail,
• Must be able to organize workload and prioritize activities based on key responsibilities,
• Demonstrates strong English communication skills, both written and oral.

Assets: 

• 1-2 years experience in a wood or manufacturing shop,
• Previous experience as a machine operator.
