Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity
 

As the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, you will oversee the entire company's (including Moneris Field Services) financial planning process and have a comprehensive understanding of all key business drivers and sophisticated financial models that enable the team to deliver insightful, value-added analysis. You will partner with business leaders to lead the financial planning process, manage corporate projects from a finance lens, and drive long-term financial planning by leveraging data and analytics.
 

Location: You will be based in our Toronto, ON office and will work in a Hybrid model.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the VP, Financial Planning, Analysis and Pricing Operations.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

• Lead five core functions:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) which lead client interactions on finance related projects, business casing, supporting business strategy and other related financials, budgeting, and expenditure.

2. Financial Project Planning to support project related implementation, project accounting advisory, and prioritization.

3. Data Analytics to drive business decisions, measurements, forecasting, and planning.

4. Sales Commissions execution and dashboard reporting.

5. Long-term strategic financial planning, performance & measurements (KPIs), and forecasting.

• Drive the development of sales targets, metrics, and business measures by partnering with sales, HR, and business analytics to support commission plan metrics, calculations, and aligning data between systems to support the overall revenue growth and profitability of the company

• Develop processes for financial analysis and valuation support for acquisitions, new product development, long-term contracts and other ad-hoc financial projects.

• Manage the preparation of the monthly management reporting package that includes comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, operational Dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus budget variances and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences. Facilitates root cause analysis and solutions identification. Presents solutions and timelines to executive teams when large scale change or trade-offs are identified.

• Develop and monitor the company's annual budget and quarterly forecasts, which shall include establishing budget tools, setting timelines and acting as project manager for the company, ensuring all budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed on time.

• Lead the company's long range strategic planning models.

• Develop and maintain an efficient and effective finance process of evaluating, tracking and monitoring all acquisition and project activity for the company with appropriate links to the annual budget and strategic plan. Take a leadership role in the development of financial improvement initiatives and business cases for strategic initiatives.

• Preparing analysis, commentary and presentation material for the monthly and quarterly financial review meetings at the executive and board levels.

• Develop and enhance competitive financial intelligence, customer intelligence, and geographic economic data trends to maximize the use of the data analytics to support business decision making, forecasting, and long term planning.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Business/ Commerce/ Accounting/ Finance or a related field of study

• Professional designation (CA, CMA, CPA, CFA) is required

• 10 years of experience in people management within Finance and/ or accounting

• Strong understanding of aggregating broad financials for reporting, planning and forecasting experiences, management reporting and analysis, model maintenance and build/development within excel (Ability to navigate quickly and maintain excel models).

• Strong negotiation skills

• Ability to interact with senior management and executives

• Ability to summarize differing levels of insight and high attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reports.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate succinctly (verbal and written)

Nice-to-have...

• Previous experience in the Credit card issuing or payment industry considered an asset
