Position Summary

Thales Canada Defense & Security (TCDS) has a vacancy for a Supply Chain Engineering Manager. The Manager is the Head of Discipline (HoD) responsible for Supply Chain Engineering across the organization. You will also be the Resource Manager for the Supply Chain Engineering team.

As Supply Chain Engineering Manager, you will be responsible and accountable to the Director, Supply Chain for material definition and supply chain solutions in support of TCDS programs.  You will also be responsible for creation and maintenance of materiel data and the Material Master.  Finally, you will interface with the Customer, TCDS Engineering, Build Program, ILS, and LCMM teams to obtain accurate material implementation data.

Regulatory Compliance Requirement

This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List and/or the US the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access.

Key Areas of Responsibility

1. As Resource Manager:

a. Provides appropriate resources to deliver bids, projects and products

b. Plans the team's workload in the short, medium and long term

c. Develops team skills to support bids, projects and products

d. Supports recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career management and succession planning for the team

e. Coaches, mentors and develops the team

f. Leads the team to meet company expectations for productivity, chargeability, quality, continuous improvement and accomplishment of objectives

g. Ensures that company policies and procedures are followed, including timesheets, time off, and travel

2. As Head of Discipline,

a. Responsible for the establishment, standardization and evolution of processes, procedures and tooling for the discipline and sub-disciplines

b. Ensures that the discipline and sub-discipline processes, procedures and tooling meet the current and future needs of the bids, projects and products

c. Responsible for development of lessons learned and the sharing of knowledge and experience across the discipline and sub-disciplines

d. Responsible for bid, project and product estimates for the discipline and sub-disciplines as appropriate.

3. As Supply Chain Engineering Manager:

a. Translates Engineering requirements into actionable items that can be procured (Material parts, BOMs, Jobs, STTE, pack up kits, asset management). Updates material and BOM data when new information is discovered in the field.

b. Coordinates New Product Introduction releases from engineering teams, ensuring other Supply Chain teams have seamless execution on new parts and services.

c. Owns cataloguing and Material Masters within Thales ERP systems.  Provides Cataloguing interface to DND and directs materials creation within Thales systems.

d. Coordinates Supply Chain IDE support for material data interfaces and maintenance (e.g. MAXIMO MMIS setup).  Service Delivery materials data prime for IDE.

e. Responsible for material data alignment between the Customer and TCDS MRP systems.

f. Develops reports and metrics as requested.  Participates in KPI3 metric on AJISS program.

g. Working with LCMM and ILS teams, implements MRP levels for all programs, either with the Customer's or internal Thales MRP systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience:

1. University degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Science, Engineering, Purchasing or possesses equivalent relevant experience in a similar field.

2. 3-5 years of experience or strong foundational knowledge working in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Inventory Management or Procurement.

3. Experience and a thorough understanding of end-to-end supply chain and procurement activities, acquired through first-hand, practical work experience.

4. Adept with Microsoft Office suite.

5. Previous knowledge and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

6. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with new product introduction and PLM systems.

Experience with LSARs and LSAR life-cycle analysis systems.

Experience with MMIS / CMMS maintenance systems.

Experience working with or as a part of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) or the Department of National Defense (DND).

Written and verbal communication in French.

Experience managing teams of staff with varied skillsets and experience.

Special Position Requirements

Travel: Twice per year, within Canada.

Pay Transparency 

The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is $110,000 to 140,000 CAD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, provincial, and federal laws.
