Job Description

Harris Healthcare is seeking a Director of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) who will work closely with senior leadership to continue the group's success in acquisitions.

Reporting to the Chief Corporate Development Officer, this role will play a key part in identifying, evaluating, and building relationships with qualified acquisition opportunities. Responsibilities include financial modeling, due diligence, acquisition process management, capital deployment, and maintaining business relationships with potential acquisition targets.

The ideal candidate is naturally curious, passionate about investing, and enjoys building and maintaining relationships. Previous business development experience and a strong financial background are essential. Experience in the software industry is considered an asset.

This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada.

Salary:

200K - 250K CAD

What your impact will be:

  • Support the M&A team in sourcing, researching, and evaluating potential acquisition targets.
  • Proactively reach out to companies regarding acquisition opportunities through cold calling and qualification activities to ensure alignment with the group's acquisition criteria.
  • Maintain relationships with existing acquisition targets through meetings, phone calls, and email communication.
  • Track activities and manage relevant information within Salesforce CRM.
  • Organize roadshows, identify and attend relevant conferences and trade shows to generate leads and build relationships with prospects.
  • Identify new acquisition targets, schedule qualified meetings, and advance opportunities through the M&A pipeline.
  • Execute acquisition processes from initial contact through financial modeling and transaction closing.
  • Coordinate and lead due diligence activities as the primary point of contact.
  • Clearly communicate Harris' investment strategy and ensure all acquisition processes are managed professionally.
  • Develop investment theses and present recommendations to the investment committee.
  • Occasional travel will be required.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree from a Business School or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Management, or Finance.
  • Business development experience with strong skills in sales, lead generation, and relationship development.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in M&A transactions, financial due diligence, sales, business development, management, or finance.
  • Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong initiative, prioritization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with C level executives both internally and externally.
  • Direct M&A experience is required. Experience in the software industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
