Job Description

Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

We are looking for a Director, Data Platforms and Services to lead the teams that ensure Moneris has a scalable, automated, reliable, and efficient set of services that supports Moneris' business operations. This includes building the teams to achieve a common vision, and empowering them to work on it.

You will collaborate with other group leaders in Technology and corporate business to build large-scale projects, operationalize technologies, establishing technology road maps, and help set standards and processes.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a Hybrid model.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the SVP, Infrastructure Services and Operations.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Leads the direction for the design, engineering, automation, and build of shared Data platforms and Services in the public cloud and on-premises.

  • Lead teams of Engineers and Support resources responsible for multiple aspects of our shared Data Platforms Services, including Databases, API Management, Analytics, ML and IA tooling, and File Transfers that supports our important applications and Data and Development teams

  • In partnership with Data, Data Engineer, and Application teams will participate in designing and building the supporting databases and data tooling for core in-house develop gateways, transaction, settlement, and payment processing systems in an Agile way

  • Sponsors projects with business, architecture, data, development, and applications teams to design, engineer, deploy, and install data platforms and tooling services, technologies, and solutions

  • Establish technology standards, road maps, and strategy across Technology Infrastructure and within Moneris

  • Oversee and maintain Data Platforms project and ongoing support budgets

  • Facilitate, assess, identify inefficiencies, and anticipate core in-house developed important applications, transaction and payment processing systems data tooling needs

  • Collaborate with senior management in setting and establishing IT strategies and technology road maps

  • Maintain relationships and negotiate with vendors and partners, plans and acquire infrastructure hardware and software, and manage operational costs

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent work experience.

  • 12+ years of experience working in a leadership or architecture position

  • 5+ years of technical leadership position and people management.

  • Experience with modern Infrastructure technologies and software development practices including public cloud, Databases, APIM, Analytics tools, ML and AI platforms, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, etc.

  • Experience presenting technical perspectives to senior management. You will need to explain your proposals for senior management to understand their value, are persuaded to invest in them and become champions of them for you

  • Experience with IT process, governance and IT frameworks

  • Experience managing budgets, and negotiating and maintaining vendor relationships
