Georgia-Pacific is seeking a safety-oriented individual to join our team as a Certified Industrial Electrician (309A) OR an experienced Industrial Electrician Apprentice in Englehart, ON. Our shift will be either 8 hour or 12 hour rotating shifts, variable start times including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled.

Our OSB (Oriented Strand Board) Mill in Englehart, ON is seeking Certified Electricians. We offer a competitive compensation package including shift premiums, performance pay, benefits and pension.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Test, repair, and calibrate electrical and electronic components.
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Read and interpret electrical codes, blueprints, schematics, and circuit diagrams.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling up to 12 hours in varying industrial conditions (hot, humid, cold, noisy).
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, operators, and maintenance staff to improve equipment reliability and automation efficiency.
  • Use computer software tools for troubleshooting, historical tracking, and monitoring.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in root cause analysis for electrical failures.
  • Ability to work 8-hour or 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • At least 4000 recognized hours designated towards the 309A certification
  • Experience with using electrical diagrams, multimeters, and software diagnostic tools
  • Strong knowledge of safety systems and machine guarding standards
  • Experience with PLCs

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Journeyman Electrician Certification (309A)
  • Experience with automation and industrial electrical systems in a manufacturing environment
