Your work will help shape informed decisions that protect watersheds, ecosystems, and communities for generations to come.

Why This Role Matters

Water is at the center of many of today's most important environmental and resource management decisions, from mine development and infrastructure planning to ecosystem protection and watershed management.

In this role, you will play an important role in helping clients understand how water moves, changes, and interacts with natural and industrial systems.

By combining field investigations, data analysis, and technical reporting, you will contribute to projects that support regulatory approvals, environmental assessments, and long-term sustainability objectives. • Analyzing hydrologic, water quality, and watershed datasets to support modeling and impact assessments.
  • Contributing technical content to reports, environmental assessments, and project documentation.
  • Conducting field investigations, including streamflow measurements, water sampling, hydrometric surveys, and instrumentation activities.
  • Collaborating with specialists across water resources, aquatic biology, toxicology, and earth sciences to address complex environmental challenges.
  • Supporting projects that balance environmental protection with responsible development.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with ERM's quality, health, safety, and scientific standards.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of large, multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Experience with water and sediment sampling techniques, streamflow gauging, or hydrometric equipment.
  • Familiarity with water quality or hydrologic modeling tools (e.g., HEC-HMS, SWMM, GoldSim, PHREEQC depending on background).
  • Ability to code or conduct statistical analyses using R or similar tools.
  • Experience with GIS or geological/watershed software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Geosoft Target, or 3D visualization tools).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform project tasks, including:
    • Hydrologic and water quality data analysis.
    • Drafting sections of technical reports.
    • Conducting water sampling, streamflow measurements, and field surveys.
    • Completing data and literature reviews.
  • Deliver work within defined scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining ERM's quality standards.
  • Collaborate with technical teams in water resources, aquatic biology, and toxicology to support environmental impact assessment and monitoring programs.
  • Support fieldwork activities and contribute to the collection of high-quality environmental data.
  • Apply scientific and technical knowledge to address hydrology and water resource challenges across a variety of projects.
