Job Description

As a Director of Operations, Engineering you will develop and implement strategies to increase organizational effectiveness and financial performance for both NORR and Cion companies.  You will develop and maintain operating plans, revenue forecasts, staffing and resource planning.  You will also control expenses and negotiate on behalf of NORR and Cion, to ensure overall efficiency and profitability. You will provide insight, information and recommendations to the Long Range Plans (LRP), Annual Operating Plan and project business plans.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducts monthly project review meetings to identify project financial risks and ensures that the delivery schedule and work plans align
• Ensures Business Plans, schedules and list of deliverables are prepared for all projects
• Monitors and makes adjustments to meet requirements of Operating Plans
• Reviews production and delivery methods with management; implements changes for process and cost improvements
• Acts as the liaison with the client, contractor and project team
• Monitors staff utilization and makes adjustments to ensure resources are forecasted in line with Operating Plan

Required Skills

• Must be registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
• Formal project management training is an asset
• Must have knowledge of engineering systems and design
• Knowledge of architectural design is an asset
• Prior experience in strategic development, project management and client management is required
• Possesses excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility and resourcefulness
