Summary

The Scrap Auditor supports and promotes plant wide scrap improvement efforts.  Ensuring that other departments are educated on scrap reduction, identifying drivers of scrap and providing opportunities to improve scrap cost.

Job Duties

  •      Scrap reporting and tracking. 
  •         Scrap Information provided to internal/external vendors.
  •      Driving continuous improvement activities of all departments to reduce scrap rates to given targets for both Flex N Gate facilities, internal departments and Vendor.
  •      RMA/Chargeback ownership and supervision. Ensuring charges are filed in timely manner and track receipts with accounting.
  •      Liaison with Vendor representatives to monitor: sorts, quality issues, dispositions and on-site sort activities. Drive continuous improvement of supplier.
  •        Internal Liaison with core departments: Materials, Production, Quality and Engineering. Tracking costs related to each department in scrap reporting.
  •      Ownership and tracking of finesse/repair and teardown activities.
  •      System entries (CMS). Ensure all holds are communicated; transactions are completed and materials are dispositioned and returned to vendors in a timely manner. Monitors the plant floor to ensure entries related to dispositions are done correctly.
  •      Prevention of aging of parts on plant floor.
  •      Monitors and identifies owners of non-conforming product to force disposition, then facilitate disposition.
  •      Training of finesse personnel.
  •      Open issue ownership with vendor base. Works directly with internal Quality Engineers/ Engineering/Materials to drive continuous improvement with vendors

Requirements

  •  Associates degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Good working knowledge of Quality expectations of the OEM's:  painted plastics, mold and chrome plated products.
  • Quality background and previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic SPC and tooling to obtain variable data and qualitative data an asset.
  • Knowledge of IATF an asset
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • A self-directed individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
