Position Overview:
The Technical RFP Specialist will support the Montreal Corporate Accounts team in building bid specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Pre-bid & RFP/RFI/RFQ Process Specific:
- Participate in review, analysis and assessment of RFP/RFI/RFQ's
- Collaborate with the bid response team to ensure timely delivery of product solutions and specifications.
- Search for and/or craft product solution responses that align with the specific opportunity.
- Communicate with assigned specifier to ensure appropriate concept specifications for major projects and bids for corporate standards.
- Develop and implement appropriate product application strategies.
- Overall review of the solution and technical information for accuracy.
- Provide graphic representations of product solution concepts.
- Customize product design solutions and pricing in pre-bid phase.
- Assist Corporate Accounts Director and Account Manager in formatting and finalizing proposal packages for delivery.
- Training and Guidance Specific:
- Provide training, insight, and demonstration of the RFP product solutioning process to new Sales personnel at Teknion and Dealers
- Provide consulting support to our dealers on product customization and specification.
- Enter special pricing requests for direct business and complex specials.
- Provide structure and guidance to our dealers when entering special requests.
- Interact with the Technical Services (specials) department to develop appropriate product applications, and coordinate with Engineering department as appropriate.
Experience, Skills, and Educational Requirements:
- 3-year Diploma of Collegial Studies from a CEGEP or Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from three-year college or university (Interior Design, Architecture or other Design related programs); or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Teknion products a plus
- Ability to keep abreast of new product developments for both Teknion and its competitors.
- Knowledge of architectural products is a plus
- Knowledge of design and product specification process
- Knowledge of industry-standard design and specification tools (i.e CAD, CAP2020, Project Matrix, Sketchup, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of today's design trends and workplace strategies
- Spoken and written communication skills in French & English a must
