Job Description and Responsibilities

Interpro Recycling is seeking a Safety Manager for our Wheat City Metals site in Regina. The Safety Manager is responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving all safety programs across assigned regional operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Interpro safety policies while fostering a strong culture of accountability, prevention, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead and conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Interpro safety policies
  • Manage all safety functions within assigned regional operations, maintaining consistent standards across all sites
  • Review, update, and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and compliance
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs, including classroom and on-the-job instruction
  • Provide technical and administrative support to Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSC) and safety teams
  • Conduct and lead incident investigations, performing detailed root cause analyses and developing corrective action plans
  • Create and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote safe work practices
  • Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in safety performance

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation (active or in progress)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in safety program management, ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment
  • Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and training program development
  • Strong understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS), principles, and best practices
  • Knowledge of Certificate of Recognition (COR) programs and auditing processes
  • Proven experience using Root Cause Analysis tools (e.g., TapRoot, SCAT)
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal and provincial safety legislation and compliance requirements
  • Mechanically inclined, with the ability to assess and recommend improvements for equipment and process safety
