Location(s): Toronto

This position manages the project portfolio team and leading a select number of complex projects within the portfolio. The role includes all aspects of people management and project leadership; it also includes working with other leaders in the PMO and broader organization to represent your portfolio and contribute to the continuous improvement of project management at Moneris.

You will report to the Manager Portfolio Management.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do.

  • Strategic Alignment: Work with Business Sponsors to prioritize and align enterprise projects with strategic goals and corporate priorities and ensure successful completion.

  • Portfolio Governance: Ensure that project management professionals are confirming projects to have clearly defined goals and measurable outcomes, and appropriate governance throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Capacity Management: Plan for and manage resource allocation to minimize capacity constraints and maximize resources efficiency while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and delivery of project activities.

  • Portfolio Performance Tracking: Track performance metrics of assigned portfolio, ensuring projects within portfolio deliver the defined benefit to our organization. Monitor portfolio health to ensure appropriate resource levels and skills are in place to achieve priorities. Partner with project sponsors to address constraints.

  • Project Execution: Maintain overall accountability for successful execution of all projects within assigned portfolio. Directly manage complex projects.

  • Relationship Management: Collaborate with sponsors with activities such as providing guidance on business cases and project charters, collaborating in road mapping exercises, and facilitating annual budgeting.

  • Communication: Communicate with project partners regarding portfolio status, issues, opportunities, and other relevant topics. May update and liaise with Executive Owners.

  • Team Member Development: Train and motivate a high-performing team. Foster an environment of professional growth of team members and guide them in achieving their career potential.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring.

Education and Professional Designation:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field of study

  • Project Management Institute, PMP Certification an asset

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a business project management environment, 2 years' experience in people management

  • Previous experience in the payment industry considered an asset.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience in waterfall and agile project management methodologies

  • Knowledge and application of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management including techniques and tools.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing project financials and forecasting.

  • Proficient in project management software, including Jira.

  • Experience in Process Improvement and business consulting an asset.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal)

  • Bilingual in French is considered an asset.
