Desktop Administrator
Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre requires a permanent, full time (8 hours daily) Desktop Administrator. The position will be located in Regina and commence on October 6, 2025.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Information Technology, the Desktop Administrator serves as a technical expert, providing comprehensive analytical and technical solutions for the organization. This role is responsible for delivering effective onsite technical support to end users and contributes to the development and implementation of technical services and solutions within Sask DLC. Key responsibilities include configuring end-user computing systems, including the setup and deployment of Microsoft 365 Intune.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides timely and responsive onsite Tier 2 support to end users and escalates to Tier 3 support when necessary.
- Accurately troubleshoots, installs and configures software and hardware on end user computer, peripherals and infrastructure.
- Resolves service desk tickets in accordance with defined standards and senior level objectives.
- Implements and administers Tier 2 level projects including enterprise level printing solutions and end user computing solutions.
- Immediately reports major technical and security issues and trends to appropriate persons.
- Upholds and enforces IT policies and procedures.
- Develops and maintains documentation and diagrams of IT services, practices and policies.
- Guides end users to utilize existing technology to its fullest capacity.
- Receives escalations from Tier 1 level support.
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned by the Executive Director of Information Technology.
Security-Related Responsibilities: - Diagnoses authorization issues.
- Immediate escalation to Systems Administrator and Executive Director of Information Technology of any possible data or system breach or virus outbreak.
- Virus and malware removal.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Demonstrated experience of computer hardware, software and networking in a Microsoft environment, including Microsoft Entra ID and Intune.
- Experience with desktop deployment solutions (Microsoft SCCM) and Intune.
- Experience with IOS devices and Apple management solutions.
- Knowledge of network topologies and concepts.
- Experience with service desk environments and ticketing systems.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.
Education and Experience - Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a technology related discipline or a combination of education, related certifications and experience is preferred.
- Minimum of five (3) years of demonstrated technical expertise.
- Microsoft certification preferred.
Employment Conditions - Office environment/setting.
- Typical core office hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) Monday to Friday.

What we offer: Salary (Level 8 $33.26/hr. to $37.05/hr.) and benefits for this position will be in accordance with C.U.P.E. 5544 Collective Agreement September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026
