Pay Range
$25.00/ hour

As this role is being funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program, the following are eligibility requirements:
You are between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (foreign students are not eligible).
You are legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
You have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
About the Role
VHA's Quality Team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student to support quality improvement initiatives across our healthcare organization. This role is ideal for a post-secondary/university student in a health or science-related program who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in project coordination, data analysis, and healthcare quality.
You will contribute to meaningful projects that advance client safety and evidence-informed services, while collaborating within a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate project and meeting logistics, including scheduling, preparing agendas, meeting notes, and facilitating follow-up.
Prepare, edit and format professional documents and presentations (e.g., reports, slide decks, charts, and graphs).
Support the development of project plans and tools, including project charters and Gantt charts.
Assist with data-related activities such as data entry, survey coordination, analysis, reporting and evaluation.
Contribute to project communications, including progress updates, summaries, and reports.
Conduct brief environmental scans and literature reviews to support evidence-informed work.
Develop clear, engaging materials (e.g., infographics, one-pagers, etc.) to support information-sharing of key messages.
Key Skills, Experience and Behaviours Required for this Position:
Currently completing (or recently completed) the third year of a health, science, or related degree
Foundational research skills, including the ability to conduct brief literature searches, identify credible sources, and synthesize findings
Experience supporting research projects, environmental scans, or data analysis (preferred)
Understanding of evidence-informed practice and best practices (preferred)
Basic knowledge of project coordination or evaluation (preferred)
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail with solid analytical thinking
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with design tools (e.g. Canva) is an asset
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
