Job Description and Responsibilities
Interpro Pipe and Steel's Regina facility is seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Process Automation Engineer professional to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions that address complex business and operational challenges. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to transform data into actionable insights, integrate machine learning models into production systems, and support continuous process improvement across the organization.
Design and deploy machine learning algorithms to solve complex problems
Collaborate with data engineers and process engineers to ensure the availability of high-quality data for model training and evaluation
Analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations
Support the integration of machine learning models into existing systems and processes
Create dashboards and reports that visualize key performance indicators and communicate insights to stakeholders
Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Quality Assurance, and R&D to support simulations and process improvements
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in applying machine learning or data science in the steel industry
Must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan
Expertise in data science techniques and machine learning algorithms
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and .NET
Experience with data cleansing routines and SQL for data gathering
Familiarity with EAF-based steelmaking, hot strip rolling and/or tubular production processes an asset
