The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for delivering all facets of the recruiting process within the Shared Services Group. They will develop local and national recruiting plans, employ traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. The Recruitment Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization is hiring the best possible talent.

What does this role do?

The Recruitment Specialist establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss needs and develops and implements strategic initiatives for recruiting diverse talent in a multi-site organization.

  • Manage the full cycle recruiting process to meet the various staffing goals across all levels within multiple business units and create and implement Employment Marketing Strategies to attract passive job seekers.
  • Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruitment agencies, social media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities and making presentations.
  • Determine applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and job qualifications and collaborate with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria.
  • Responsible for reviewing applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Develop and implement search strategies that include vendor selection process and performance metrics for all searches.
  • Develop and maintain career opportunities section on the Teknion website through the posting of positions, screening and cataloging resumes for future reference.
  • Manage the intern/coop program by conducting orientations; scheduling rotations and assignments; monitoring intern job contributions and advising managers on training and coaching.
  • Track and report key metrics designed to measure and predict staffing activity.

What is required for this role?

  • A University degree/College diploma and/or equivalent experience in a field related to Human Resources Management
  • Minimum 5 years experience in recruitment, preferably high volume
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles, and all applicable labour, human rights, and health and safety laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and human relations skills
  • Good problem solving , analytical, decision making skills, time management and organization skills
