Job Description

Geospatial Content Solutions (GCS) is a part of Hexagon, a leading global provider of measurement, acquisition, processing and visualization technologies that enable customers to measure and locate objects, as well as gather, process and present geospatial data. GCS is an exciting business division that encompasses over 600 talented employees on multiple continents.

At present we are seeking a talented IT Help Desk Support Associate to work in our Calgary office. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive great outcomes in a high growth environment.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing day-to-day technical support for network devices and desktop/laptops.
  • Utilizing soft skills and troubleshooting skills to resolve client issues and questions.
  • Asking probing questions to gather relevant information on routine and complex calls.
  • Using effective listening skills to develop an understanding of client questions or issues.
  • Documenting, tracking, and monitoring incidents via ticketing system to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Prioritizing and escalating support incidents and requests based on business impact and documented guidelines.
  • Communicating highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Our ideal candidate will have the following experience
  • High School/GED with help desk experience or Associates/Bachelor Degree
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, timeliness, and ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of computer hardware and components
  • Possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows, Office, Active Directory)
  • Knowledge of basic network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP)
  • Knowledge of basic network functionality (file shares, VPN, Intranet)
  • Associates/Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field of study (preferred)
  • Technical Certifications (A+, Network+, Security+, ITIL, MCP/SA) (preferred)
  • Experience with ticketing systems (preferred)
