Ribbon's IP Wave Line of Business is building a US based Regional Business Center of experienced visionaries to chart our course in the advancement of networking solutions to better serve the most strategic Enterprise customers in North America. This is a highly rewarding position reporting to the head of the RBC with the opportunity to truly make a difference in the successful evolution of our company. We are looking for a networking professional with advanced IP/MPLS expertise to collaborate with key customer and internal stakeholders on solution direction and guide internal Product Line Management (PLM) and Sales organizations in its execution.
 

Primary responsibilities:

The lead DevOps must plan, lead and deliver strategic software projects within a telecommunications service environment.

The candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in the management and implementation of complex and inter-dependent software projects and programs. The candidate will also have a breadth of telecom technology understanding including knowledge of the functions involved in Network Function Virtualization (NFV) Engineering, Software Defined Networking (SDN), Mobile Edge Compute (MEC), Open Radio Area Network (ORAN) Engineering, including Network Cloud Operations, and Technical Services.  The ideal candidate will have exceptional telecoms networks understanding and will be able to demonstrate previous success in delivering software programs through modern software development practices.

The candidate must provide personnel leadership and management of cross-functional teams comprised of multi-disciplined team members. Plan, conduct and facilitate work in adherence to customer requirements. Provide leadership and mentoring to members of a global staff.  Strong customer management skills in terms of negotiations, communication, and relationship building.
 

Experience and Skills:

  • BS CS/CE/EE. MS degree preferred.

  • 10 years of experience in software test, system test, proof of concept testsnetwork consulting, systems engineering, or advanced services

  • Experience developing software applications in the telecom industry.

  • Experience in network virtualization technologies such as VXLAN, OpenStack, etc.

  • Experience in integrating firewalls, load balancers, and virtualization controllers in virtualized networks

  • Experience with routing & switching hardware platforms preferred.

  • Preferred knowledge and experience in deploying, testing, and troubleshooting: STP, LACP, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, BFD, NSF, MPLS, IGMP, PIM SM/SSM, ACL, QoS, and HA

  • Experience in server virtualization and Linux tools

  • Excellent understanding of Ruby, Python, Perl, and Java

  • Configuration and managing databases such as MySQL, Mongo

  • 5G and MEC experience a big plus

  • Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services such as:

    • Continuous Integration (CI)

    • Continuous Delivery (CD)

    • Orchestration and automation,

    • Source / Version Control

    • Virtualization / Containers

    • Cloud infrastructure

  • Working knowledge of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to operate with a high degree of independence and manage projects

  • Enjoy cross-functional collaboration and shared responsibility in small team settings
