Status: Full-time

Reporting to the Director, International Education and Development the incumbent supports the diverse global market development, research and market intelligence for new and existing diverse markets to align with department and institution level strategic goals and strategic enrolment markets. The incumbent also supports projects and initiatives for on and offshore recruitment efforts in support of new market acquisition and market growth. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Collecting relevant market data and information through various means which may include conducting or attending virtual focus groups, independently sourcing data, gathering feedback from industry / organization experts, etc.
  • Analyzing and making recommendations based on data collected to inform department leadership and decision making on target diverse markets for recruitment as it relates to the departmental enrolment plan and institutional strategy
  • Conducting market scans - reviewing and reporting on immigration and global education trends
  • Carrying out both quantitative and qualitative research analyses and interpreting and identifying patterns and solutions
  • Conducting ongoing market intelligence and building reports on the competitive landscape both domestic and international
  • Compiling monthly country update reports for ongoing market intelligence and information; monitoring immigration trends and other global influences on recruitment
  • Monitoring current and future trends in international recruitment and institution partnerships
  • Providing information to the recruitment team and department leadership to inform decision making and support the reallocation of resources (budgets, staff, etc.) based on research and findings
  • Assisting and supporting department leadership in reviewing international and domestic project and initiative opportunities which may include drafting proposals and reports where required
  • Monitoring new applications received on the OCAS-IAS portal from prospective students on a daily basis from assigned countries
  • Reviewing and performing first and second level screening, as assigned, of the applications to ensure accuracy and continuation of the application process with the International Application System in support of diversity targets and planning
  • Ensuring all required documents (official transcripts, translations, English proficiency test scores, etc.) are included in the application and contained in the proper section
  • Actioning applications that are incomplete or are unable to be further processed with appropriate individuals
  • Following-up with application inquiries, in all venues, to ensure timely application processing, conversion activities, and registration of students
  • Screening requests for deferrals and program changes, as required, and deferring to Application Officers in timely manner and conducting follow up where necessary
  • Communicating with and supporting students affected by program suspensions
  • Ensuring contact management support for all first-level inquiries from various external and internal partners, and handling inquiries through email, phone and in person
  • Providing guidance, assistance and information to regional contacts regarding Georgian programs, the application process/procedures, admissions deadlines, OCAS-IAS portal, including training if required
  • Facilitating support to students experiencing difficulties by connecting them to the appropriate support resources, either in the international department or the college departments/campuses
  • Assisting regional contacts and triaging inquiries related to service concerns and questions regarding student payment, application status, and refunds by collaborating and coordinating with colleagues to ensure issue resolution
  • Providing guidance, assistance and information to individual future international students, in the region of coverage, regarding Georgian, the application process/procedures, admission and articulation opportunities at Georgian
  • Coordinates virtual on-campus and off-campus recruitment activities/events (i.e. recruitment fairs, familiarization tours, etc.) to support the engagement and recruitment of prospective offshore and onshore international students, on occasion

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Successfully completed a two-year postsecondary diploma in International Marketing and/or Business, Research, Data Management, or another related field
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a marketing/sales environment with specific experience in conducting market research, data analysis and report writing
  • Experience and advanced knowledge using the Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook) to create reports, summary data charts and tables to provide analytical support
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting with strong skills related to cultural sensitivity
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to manage time, multitask and meet provided deadlines
  • Experience working in an educational institution is an asset
  • Knowledge of OCAS-IAS and Banner is an asset
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research
  • Experience drafting reports, recommendations, and/or proposals
  • Demonstrated sourcing and analytical skills
