Job Description

Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

The Corporate Strategy Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support for all strategic activities conducted in the Strategy and Corporate Development function. You will be required to build strong partnerships with business leaders and colleagues by providing exceptional business strategy support. In turn, you will have direct working relationships with a large number of leaders and Execs across Moneris which will enable you to learn, grow and advance in your personal development.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid model.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the SVP, Strategy and Corporate Development.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Track Moneris' corporate strategy OKRs and gather, monitor and analyze other business performances against established metrics, identifying areas of improvement and optimization

  • Help create board materials, financial models, ad-hoc requests from senior leaders in strategy and corporate development and the executive team

  • Team-up with senior leaders to define and drive business level strategic plans and roadmaps

  • Help gather market information on the Payments landscape and analyze industry trends

  • Perform financial/data analysis and evaluate the hypotheses/trends concerning market segments, geographies, products, etc

  • Support with products/solutions gap analysis (between Moneris' and competitors') and identify areas for inorganic market expansion

  • Perform due diligence on merger and acquisition and other investment targets

  • Conduct valuations on acquisition targets and/or investments under the business incubator program

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business/ finance/ economics/ commerce

  • Master's Degree (MBA) in strategy or finance would be an asset

  • 3 or more years of experience with at least 2+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy or a similar role where structuring ambiguous problems using data to communicate results to executives were essential

  • Experience in the Payments industry or with a boutique strategy consulting firm would also be considered beneficial

  • Understanding of storyboarding and building business cases and executive level presentations to support acquisition programs

  • Familiar with using CapitalIQ and TheMarkets/ Thomson reuters

  • Experience with financial modelling, complex analysis and valuation methods

  • The ability to translate concepts into business strategies and interpret and present results to audiences

  • Business case development skills and planning experience, from concept to execution
