Salary Range: $26.21 (start rate) - $30.39 (4 year rate)
Hours Per Week: 35 hours per week
Status: Full Time

Reporting to the Manager, Architectural Services, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the preparation of drawings, specifications and tender packages for renovation projects, and will at times act as a liaison between manager and contractors conveying communication related to updates of projects underway. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing drawings for renovation projects for college facilities within current building code standards using AutoCAD software
  • Measuring existing spaces and updating drawings
  • Organizing all college office location changes, including coordination with IT, office occupants and Facilities Management staff
  • Obtaining competitive quotes and ordering furniture for projects, as required
  • Creating purchase orders, coordinating the delivery and installation of required furniture and processing related invoices
  • Coordinating college interior signage for all campus locations
  • Tracking budgets for smaller projects that fall within the scope portfolio
  • Management of project files
  • Performing data collection, and maintaining and updating building inventory and facilities database systems
  • Conducting site inspection on projects in progress, as directed by the manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Successfully completed a three-year postsecondary degree in Architectural Technology, Interior Design, or other related field
  • Three years of experience in a similar role within a large-scale facility using AutoCAD to prepare drawings, coordinating moves, preparing purchase orders and processing invoices
  • Ladder training, Working at Heights, Asbestos Training and Mould Awareness Training are assets
  • Proven computer experience in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD and the ability to learn database programs
  • Experience in a customer service role
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to provide information and drawings to internal clients and external contractors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with a varied client group
  • Travel to other campuses will be required on occasion
