MicroSurvey Software is a high-tech Kelowna based business in the Okanagan valley in British Columbia. We develop and sell geomatics and public safety solutions into multiple markets worldwide. We are part of Hexagon, a global leader in sensor, software and autonomous solutions. We have a vision to become the premier solution provider of traffic and crime scene diagramming and reconstruction software and we need to add key people to our existing team to achieve this. We are looking for a product manager to manage our public safety product line.
Job SummaryAs the Public Safety Product Manager, you will be our lead in defining the future of our products and solutions. You will be the voice of the customer and have a good understanding of industry trends and competition. You will be able to clearly articulate market and customer expectations and turn them into product requirements and roadmap. You will be technically strong, have strong project management skills, great work ethic and ability to bring people and teams together to deliver results.
You are responsible for the product vision, the overall go-to-market strategy and delivery of products that meet customer expectations and deliver high impact business results.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, market trends and our competition. You should be an expert with respect to competitive solutions.
  • Identify product gaps and generate innovative ideas that increase market share, improve customer experience and customer retention.
  • Shape the vision and strategy for our product lines. Create buy-in for the product vision with internal stakeholders, leadership, and external partners.
  • Translate the product strategy and goals into product requirements for our engineering teams. Balance the goals with our technical and resource constraints.
  • Negotiate and coordinate with internal and external partners to determine scope, define timelines, and manage expectations.
  • Manage the product roadmap and prioritize activities based on business opportunity and customer impact.
  • Drive product launches including working with public relations, executives, external partners, sales channels, and stakeholders.
Qualifications and SkillsRequired
  • 2+ years of industry and market experience in public safety focused on traffic reconstruction or crime scene mapping.
  • Experience with laser scanners or mapping equipment such as total stations and GNSS.
  • Bachelor's Degree, Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma in a geospatial or related science or law enforcement discipline.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working in a hands-on, fast-paced, creative, entrepreneurial environment, in a cross-functional capacity.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and project management skills and the ability to work with diverse teams in multiple locations.
  • The ability to travel within Canada, the USA and internationally occasionally.
Desirable
  • 2+ years of product development experience. Those without prior product development experience may still apply as training may be provided for the right candidate.
  • Experience with CAD based solutions such as AutoCAD.
  • Experience with competitive solutions such as FARO Zone 3D, Trimble Reveal, Visual Statement, ARAS 360, or Easy Street Draw.
